Build a strong team while you’re having fun! Team building activities are a great way to reward your staff for a job well done or just to blow off the conferencing cobwebs. Our experienced Sport and Recreation team creates and plans a series of group and individual challenges designed to test team dynamics and focus on trust, communication and initiative – all with a sense of friendly competition. Couran Cove Island Resort boasts team-building and sporting facilities unlike any other, many of which can be adapted to suit the individual needs of groups from all fields of commerce, education and government.

The level of mental and physical challenge varies but we guarantee there’s something for everybody. Participating in these challenges is an invaluable experience - the end result is a more dynamic team that will rise to any challenge. 

This is a fun team competition that covers the entire resort property. Teams are equipped with bikes, a map and a list of cryptic clues, and are then set loose on the resort in search of numerical answers. Challenges can be adapted to incorporate your own secret message to be decoded and even related to the theme of your conference, your company’s mission or company vision.

If you like the idea of a survivor theme and prefer to keep your feet on dry land, ‘Stranded’ is the perfect activity for your group. Based on the theme of survival in the Australian Bush, the group is tested with a series of stimulating and mental challenges, with each team rewarded points according to their successful completion of tasks.

Olympics ‘Couran’ style is an event consisting of a number of games played in teams at the superb Couran Cove Island Resort Sports Centre Complex. Either in head-to-head or round robin formats, your delegates take part in a series of activities that are fun and challenging, while not being too physically demanding so that all can join in.

South Stradbroke Island and Couran Cove Island Resort are home to a great diversity of flora and fauna and unique coastal island habitats. With an educational perspective on your team building event, the resort’s qualified environmental interpretive guides provide guided tours (including environmental initiatives tours, rainforest walks, nocturnal walks, bird walks and astronomy) which can be custom designed for your group's particular requirements.
